Sadly, No One Wants to Take a Chance On Beautiful Black Chi Because of The Color of His Coat

Some cultures believe that a dog or cat with a darker, black coat, is a superstitious omen that must be avoided at all costs. In America, and western cultures, in particular, there is a belief that is widely held that if a black cat crosses you, seven years of bad luck ensues, which of course couldn’t be further from the truth.

I'm an approximately 4 year old female Chihuahua. I am not yet spayed. You can visit me at my temporary home at C222.

For one dog named Marie, her new reality is caged in with her, at the high kill, Carson Animal Shelter in Gardena, California. The sweet pup, who always makes sure to greet shelter patrons with a cheerful upbeat attitude, is routinely passed up for adoption.

My source at the shelter, who wishes to remain anonymous for the story says that the 4 year old pup, is more than likely being overlooked because of the color of her coat, and I tend to agree wholeheartedly.

Speak up!, if you or someone you know is interested in giving Marie the second chance she deserves, please contact the Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566 and reference the shelter ID #A5064282.

Additionally, please share the story on Facebook or Twitter, so we are closer to finding Marie a home. We have done it before, and can certainly do it again.
